The sweet scent of strawberries suddenly filled the air, and Jisung gasped wide-eyed as the blond guy stepped closer to Minho, purposely looking over at Jisung to check his reaction. And that-- that was Jisung's final trigger.
How dare that Omega hit on his Alpha, right in front of him?!
Jisung growled, furious, stomping his way towards the two men. He knew his scent was going haywire, but he couldn't care less. There was an Omega actively trying to steal his Alpha from him.
Jisung took his rightful place by his boyfriend's side, arm tight around his middle, purposefully releasing a wave of pheromones. Sweet honey filled the air in no time, and Jisung felt Minho pleasantly rumbling and taking a sniff of the air, subconsciously releasing his own mint scent.

Jisung moved to the desk by the window, setting the hefty manual aside with a soft thud. He needed a plan. Running his fingers through his already messy hair, he pulled his worn notebook from his backpack. The same one filled with half-finished lyrics and melody ideas that came to him at 3 AM. Flipping to a clean page, Jisung clicked his pen several times as he stared at the blank paper. Cat Sitting for Dummies, he wrote at the top of the page, underlining it twice for emphasis. Or how to make Minho's cats fall in love with me in ten steps. This was just like studying for an exam, right? Break it down into manageable chunks. He glanced over at Minho's encyclopedia of cat care, feeling his stomach tighten. Step One: Convince Minho and his cats that I already understand the mysterious creatures I'm about to cohabitate with.

Summary
Ever since he got the idea to propose, it was like it had tunneled its way into the deepest part of his brain and wouldn’t come out until he asked Jisung to marry him. It was all he thought about every morning when he woke up and saw Jisung’s face squished against the pillow, when he left for work and heard a song Jisung produced playing on the radio, when he walked home and passed Jisung’s favorite street vendor, when he stepped through the door and saw Jisung waiting with their cat bundled up in his arms; his brain was just an endless loop of you’re going to marry this man and there’s nothing you can do about it.
Not necessarily a bad thought, but one that induced a lot of stress, to say the least.
Minho finally figures out exactly how he wants to propose to Jisung, but one question remains: how on earth does he find the right words to do it?

“If I ever came back to visit, would you want to see me?” Minho asked quietly.
Jisung stilled. He imagined if he ever did see Minho again, it might turn out exactly as it had this time. Things would be great, Minho would be great, but Jisung would still be stuck in the same place, unsure if he was ready for what he knew Minho could offer him.
“I don’t know,” he answered, almost in a whisper.
Minho nodded.
“But it’s not because I don’t want to see you, I just–” Jisung started. Minho waited patiently for him to continue. “I don’t think I would be able to let you go again,” he finished with a halfhearted shrug.
Jisung finds his old journal from the two years he spent in New York City and takes a trip down memory lane, revisiting his past and those who made it special.
