A very dark story about Raven Neil. How he was conditioned as a child, but part of him always rebelled against it.
Some things unfold differently than in canon.
In this version, Neil is THE best striker, and Riko hates him for it.
Side notes: In my story, Riko is not the main villain. He is a minor wannabe antagonist, a cheap imitation of the kind Nathaniel grew up and live with. (But still gruel)
Also, Andrew is not medicated and the relationship with Aaron is better than in canon. Not warm, God no - we’re talking about the Minyards - but tolerable.

“You remember your time with The Ravens, don’t you?”
Nathaniel is still reeling—can’t tear his eyes away from the gun—but nods all the same. He stares down at the envelope without opening it.
Ichirou makes a vague gesture. “Go on.”
Nathaniel tears open the seal with quivering hands. He pulls out the first thing he can feel, a thin packet of paper with The Ravens’ logo stamped onto one corner.
"Form of Agreement: Assistant Coach," it reads. "Edgar Allan Ravens."
“What is this?” Nathaniel whispers.
Ichirou doesn’t miss a beat. “My uncle is not in good health. He has a reputation to uphold, and is in need of a second coach. You will assist him until his condition improves.”
“I haven’t played Exy in years.”
“Brush up. Prove to me that you can be trusted. Miss Malcom will fill The Butcher’s position until a decision can be made about you.”

Summary
The first time Kevin Day met Nathaniel Wesninski, he remembers the boy as being remarkably plain, completely average. He looked like his father and was glad he could get the chance to play at Evermore Castle just like every other Exy player.
The second time Kevin Day met Nathaniel Wesninski, a lot had changed. Riko clutched his power with a white-knuckled grip, Kevin did his best to get out of the way, and Nathaniel was staring into Kevin’s soul, smiling.
When Andrew Minyard met Nathaniel Wesninski for the first time, it is after Kevin Day crawled across state lines, looking at a warped reflection of himself and Kevin. He sees too much of himself, and Kevin sees someone he once trusted. A crack appears in Andrews stone heart alongside a text on Kevin's phone, and Andrew sees an opportunity to strike.

He'd always had a knack for languages and lying and all the 'messy stuff' came easily enough when your father is called the Butcher of Baltimore. So Nathaniel became the Wraith. He was untraceable, unknowable, infalliable; a criminal fairytale.
When Kevin Day leaves the Nest, there's no better person to send.

"Who the hell are you?" Andrew demanded.
He wasn't anyone, not really; not anymore. He hadn't really been anyone in years now. There'd been a time. Once. But there were entire lifetimes between who he could have been and what he'd become. He could taste it sometimes; blackberries and sand stinging his tongue like the iron branded on his shoulder.
It was easier to pretend he'd never been anyone at all.
"I'm nothing," he answered. The ghost of a smile pulled at his lips; sharp and cruel. "A wraith." The Wraith, he didn't say, but the shadows ran through Andrew's eyes and he wondered if Andrew had heard it anyways.
