Summary
"They made you a temple, at Tilphussa" Hermes whispers beside him.
The prophet sighs, blank gaze directed ahead, "I know."
Hermes groans, as if he answered wrongly. "Ofcourse you know darling, but have you seen it? Past the mist of prophecy?"
"I've walked it's gardens" he says defensively, though really, his voice was far too tired for the dramatics the Thief God afforded himself.
"Not of your own will" Hermes pointedly replies.
He goes silent at that. "No..."
"It's a wonderful place, for birdwatching" Hermes muses, leaning into his shoulder. Describing a falcon flying swiftly across the sky.
...
Somewhere north of Tilphussa the falcon lands primly on a gnarled branch. There, gathering sticks in the woods, is Manto. Prophet, Prize, and Pythia-in-training of the Oracle of Delphi. From here, the end of a myth continues, as life so often does, even after death.
