“Why are you shitting yourself over this?” Mitsuki asks, it’s judgemental as fuck, but also a genuine question somehow. Like she doesn’t understand that this is a batshit insane concept.

That was a hard learned lesson at the age of seven. One second Mitsuki was singing, cooing him as his cries died, swaying them side to side, and the next she was tearing herself away from Katsuki, cradling a burn on her arms against her chest while hissing for his father to come in. Katsuki, who had all but been thrown to his bed, watched as his mom put as much distance between them as possible.
Katsuki had watched as his mother grew to fear him.
Or: the one where Katsuki desperately wants human affection but is so subconsciously scared he is going to hurt someone.

Summary
What was supposed to be a normal day at the park with his dad turns into a nightmare for Katsuki when two men notice his quirk and see him as something valuable- Kidnapped and being used for his quirk by a man named Chisaki- Katsuki finds himself trapped and isolated, and is later joined by a girl with white hair and a small horn. During this time Katsuki struggles to trust anyone as he and the girl are used for Chisaki’s schemes.
Meanwhile, Midoriya Izuku never forgot about Kacchan, Sad and heart-broken by what happened, Izuku becomes even more determined to become a hero- who can save as many as possible, making sure no one else suffers like Katsuki did. Eventually, Katsuki and the girl are rescued, and with the guidance of Aizawa and the support of Class 1-A, he slowly begins to rebuild trust and learn to rely on others again.

"There you are, Midoriya Izuku."
By all means, it should have been the soft, calm way Kacchan spoke that clued him in. It should be the fact that he had not seen his childhood friend since that horrible night in the mountains where Izuku had been just too weak and slow to reach him in time.
But its not.
It's how the face and the hair were the same but the person hiding behind his eyes was different. What were once bright, lively eyes full of energy were now alight with something deceptive and sinister and wrong , hiding among familiar ruby red like a snake in the grass. The sight of that angular face, not darkened by its usual frown but smoothed out by eerie, unnatural, uncharacteristic calmness set the hair at the back of his neck on end.
Kacchan then smiles. It's a soft grin, as pliant and serene as the look in his eyes. It's the smile of someone who has all the time in the world. Someone who could do anything they wanted and they were confident that the world would bend to their will.
It's at that moment that Izuku understands that the person behind those eyes wasn't Kacchan at all.
Or; In the face of death, All for One makes a decision. He trades his broken body for a new one.
