“Let’s make a deal, mother. You and I both know that I’ve always been a boy. When we get to New Oreans, I’m going to be Alastor from now on.”
His mother looked at his hand critically. “That’s not a deal, dear. You have to offer me something in return.”
Alastor thought for a minute. “In return, I offer to be the best son you’ve ever had.”
She snorted, but took her son’s hand in hers and shook it. “Sounds like a deal, Alastor.”
As the two left the house, she looked over her shoulder at the closed bedroom door, finally letting a devilish grin stretch her face. Alastor caught sight of it and understood, a similar grin coming to his face as well.

That didn't stop him from pursuing his hobbies of course! He hunted down child predators and those who preyed on the weak and defenseless and made them weak and defenseless.
They would never hurt another child, another vulnerable person...
But he would need a more stable job soon...
Until he had a witness for his latest murder...a little girl with a bright smile and big blue eyes. And an entirely too attractive father.
