He’ll always mean something to Morro.

As the ninja race to stop Wojira, everyone on the team must step up. Otherwise, Ninjago will fall. Jay holds his family close to his heart. Just like his lightning. Maybe it’s time for him to finally let go.

Kai felt like he had been stuck in the land of monsters forever, at some point he stopped wanting to keep going, all he could feel was his consuming loneliness digging away at him.
One day he escapes and appears back in Ninjago city. But it's not his Ninjago City and no one seems to recognize him, as if he has been removed from his very own existence.

Kai gets transported to the movie universe from the land of monsters. Angst ensues.

Summary
After taking in the son of the most infamous supervillain in Ninjago, Kai knows he might not be long for this world. As the villain seems to fixate on destroying Kai and all he loves, the hero struggles to balance protecting both an ignorant kid and himself from a madman.
But as Garmadon’s attacks become more personal—almost game-like—Kai suspects there might be more to the villain’s fixation on him than a need for revenge. There’s a reason fire-wielders are typically villains, and as Kai begins to lose control of both his powers and self, he’s afraid Garmadon—wielder of the dark flame—might just be a reflection of his future.

See, the thing about electronics and engineering was that sometimes the thing you wanted to build won't work at all, but you might end up accidently breaking up some laws (from physic's, magic's and the government's) to create something entirely different, which will push you and all your turf colleagues into internet stardom when you were all technically supposed to be isolated in a confined government facility.
Also, if you just happened to be named Carlos de Vil, people might start calling you a puppy on the internet.
