Summary
Apparently this was all the jostling that the man needed to wake back up. He gnashed his teeth, growling, “Who are you? Where’s Ava!”
Grace tried to pull backwards but the man grabbed his shirt, “Stratt? She’s not here!”
The man stilled somewhat, “What?” He asked.
Grace regained his balance, “Eva Stratt. It’s her mission, right? She’s not here. I’m Ryland Grace, I’m here to help you.”

Just before he dies to the Blood Ocean, Simon appears in the Hail Mary's airlock while Grace is holding his crew's funeral. The crew is back at the correct headcount with a scientist, an engineer, and a pilot, but none of them were originally meant to be on this ship, and Grace still hasn't gotten around to telling anyone it's a one-way trip for the humans. Grace counts his victories in unraveled scientific mysteries, while Simon counts his in getting Grace to swear.

Summary
After ramming the sub straight into the Light, Simon wakes up on a strange spaceship with no memory of how he got there. The state of the Hail Mary -spacious, clean, bright and comfortable- can only lead to one conclusion: Simon has somehow been picked up by one of the highest-ranking leaders of the C.O.I.
Luckily, Dr. Grace doesn't seem to recognize him, buying Simon enough time to hatch yet another desperate plan for survival before his identity is discovered. In the meantime, Simon tries his best to stay in the man's good graces (no pun intended), but he's hardly known for his charming personality.
Both of them are in for a bumpy ride.

“I swear, I swear! I’m not going to hurt you or put you anywhere, I don’t know what the heck you’re talking about. I don’t know what the C.O.I is but I’m not part of it. You’re on Erid, orbiting the star 40 Eridani. Can you please tell me your name?”
He scoffs indignantly. “You think I was born yesterday? There are no stars. There are no planets. They’re dead. All dead. Everybody knows that.”
