Summary
Steve is untrusting, Tony's a drunk, Logan's a cynic, Fury's a liar.
And that's how it starts, but like any living thing, this story evolves. Trust grows, sobriety happens, there is truth in lies-- and Logan... well, even a cynic can have his loyalties redefined. (Also Tony gets into a lot of trouble. Things just seem to happen to him.)
The Avengers Assemble in an entirely different way from The Avengers movie. Story starts with Captain America declining to work for Fury and meeting Tony Stark who had also refused the Avengers Initiative, and among other things, co-owns a bar, the Iron Wolverine, with Logan. Lots of Marvel characters join as Iron Wolverines. (In fact the story merges & adapts elements from the Movie verse Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Iron Man 1 and 2 and The Avengers, as well as comics verse & maybe a tiny hint of X-Men First Class.) There's plot and some angst, and sneakiness going on behind the scenes, aiming for an ending I'm pretty sure Marvel will never film.

Summary
Dean is a former Marine, now working as a mechanic for Bobby Singer, Sam is a lawyer. Castiel is an Emergency Nurse and Gabriel runs a coffee shop called The Broken Halo. Dean suffers from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and tries to bury himself in his work to avoid it. Dean and Castiel meet on a rainy night on a lonely highway.
