Usually Aizawa can let a bad case roll off his shoulders, but some cases have stuck with him. Cases like the one that lay within the five year old file that Tsucouchi just interrupted his afternoon of paperwork by placing on his desk. Aizawa gives himself a moment to steel his nerves and opens the file. The first thing that catches his eye is a school picture of one Midoriya Izuku.

Everyone always says Hitoshi looks just like Aizawa. It makes sense- Aizawa is his dad, his mentor, his hero inspiration. It was Aizawa who brought home the adoption papers and Aizawa who gave him his first capture scarf.
What they don't know, however, is that it wasn't Aizawa who he met first. And it isn't Aizawa he sees when he looks in the mirror.

The teen nodded.
“Can I help you?”
“I-” His voice cracked. “Please…please don’t touch me.”
“Okay. I won’t. I promise. Do you want to wrap the- uhm, the baby?”
“No. I mean...yes, but-” Izuku shuddered out a breath. “It’s dead.”
Izuku had never seen his teacher like this. Head bowed, a silent rage burning just under his usual smokey scent. The fingers gripping his outstretched capture scarf had gone white from how tight they’d become. He swallowed back something that tried to fight its way to the surface and took an extended breath.

OR: Izuku was kidnapped during a work study patrol, and held captive for four months as a forcibly bitched Omega in an adoption scheme. Recovery might not be straight forward, but he finds a way to get through it, with some help, and the hope that the children he was forced to have might live a better life.
