Summary
Harry doesn’t mind being isolated though. Not any more than he minds anything else, that is. He spends his days alone, and he’s gotten used to it. He never really liked people anyways. It was only really just a few people that he ever genuinely liked, only one that he ever really wanted around, and they’re all long gone from his life, save for his sister.
Harry shakes the thoughts of him out of his head, and makes his way back down the stairs. If he’s going to be stranded by the storm, then he’ll need to go into town for supplies. Besides, it’s Sunday. Harry always goes shopping on Sunday. It’s when the fishermen come in with their weekend hauls, and the farmers bring in their produce and animal products, so everything is at its freshest. As a bonus, half of the town is in church, so there are fewer people around.
Harry always prefers dealing with fewer people. It means that there are less people to stare and gossip. There are less people to point and whisper things, as if he can’t hear them. As if he can’t see all on his own that he’s a phantom, haunting this small village with his presence.

Summary
“I look forward to working with you, Your Highness,” he says with a slight nod. Harry scoffs, flips him off with his hands on his lap, unseen to mostly everyone but him. He chokes back a laugh, settles for a smug beam instead.
(Niall is a social worker, Harry is a pretentious prince, seventh or eight in line, and they get on each other's nerves, until they don't.)

Summary
“Way I see it, people get tattoos for one of four reasons. Zayn, he gets them to commemorate important ideas and thoughts. You, you’re about marking important events in your life, even if it’s in a way only you can understand. Me, if I were to get any it’s about celebrating the people I love, but nobody has ever been important enough to me to do that, to permanently sear a remnant of them into myself because whether they’re still with me or not, I want to keep them close.” Niall explains quietly, keeping his eyes locked on the line he’s engraving on Harry’s arm.
“And what’s the fourth reason?” Harry asks, just curious to hear more of how Niall’s mind works while he still has a chance.
“I reckon it’s because they want to remember they're alive.” Niall breathes out. And yeah, Harry thought it might be something like that, but it sounds so perfect coming from Niall’s mouth. He wants to kiss him, just to see if that helps remind either of them that they're still alive too. Because Harry isn't so sure that he is anymore.

Summary
Harry loves his job, he really does. It's a great job, no matter what these pricks are saying. Fuck the Santas (been there, done that, once. Never again. It would probably indicate some deeply rooted childhood issues if he'd ever had a childhood, or indeed if he wasn't actually far older than the legend of Saint Nicholas.), the Easter bunnies (Who are in reality a very nice group of girls Harry enjoys spending time with more now after he convinced them fifty years ago to wear faux-fur instead because he's a bit of a hippie, and fur is murder.), the tooth fairies (Creepy gomthopothic little weirdos.), the sandmen (does he really even need to say how boring that job would be?) and the rest of the bastards currently taking the piss out of his job.
He’s the literal embodiment of love, a Cupid, and a pretty high ranking one at that. He runs all of the greater London area, and has for nearly two centuries. It’s a prestigious position, and one Harry is proud of (Even if it does tend to focus around an insane amount of paperwork). “Mate, you have to admit, your job is fairly ridiculous.” someone seated over to his left laughs.
Or Harry is a literal Cupid, and Niall doesn't believe in love.
