Summary
Wei Wuxian is about to strip out of his robe when he hears a sound. A quiet “ah”. Slowly and silently, he comes up around his privacy screen. He first looks under the bed, but there is no one. Wei Wuxian purses his lips. He could swear the sounds came from his room. His gaze travels to the closet. The door is slightly ajar. He goes over and throws the door open with his foot.
“Gotcha!” Wei Wuxian blinks. The closet is empty. And squeaky clean. This is when he hears it again. It is strangely louder from inside the closet. Another muffled “ah”. He steps fully inside, pressing his ear against the back of the closet.
Agh!”
Startled, he jerks back. That sounds … He can’t quite place it, but somehow his face heats. It sounds like pain and at the same time not. Either way, something is going on! He concentrates.
Then he hears it. Some kind of wet gliding noise in a short rhythm. Heavy breathing. It is faint, as if the person tries to muffle the sound. Another barely there “ah, ah” and suddenly Wei Wuxian knows what he’s hearing.
He rips his ear back abruptly, staring at the wood, face heating even more.
