Oh. I think. So, she knows we were basically tangled into each other this morning. I chew on my bottom lip, my mind about to go into over drive.
“You’re doing that thing.” She tells me.
“Yeah sorry.” I give an awkward laugh. “You cuddle with all your friends, I’m guessing…”
Maddy phones begin to blow up, and she looks at it and roll her eyes while saying, “No. I don’t like sharing beds during sleepovers.” My eyes widen. “I have to go, unfortunately.” She leans over and gives me a hug, “Good night, Rue.”
I pull the pillow Maddy was using and fall into a dream that includes hues of purple and whispers of ocean wave promises.

Wednesday raised an eyebrow. Enid raised an eyebrow. Wednesday raised her eyebrow higher. Enid’s face hurt. They stood still for a few moments, stuck at an impasse, before Wednesday muttered, “...sentences?”
