Steve’s eyes widen and he takes another step back. Startled at the man’s choice of words.

“Eddie,” he supplies.
Steve nods. “Thank you, Eddie.”

Summary
"Listen, Steve, before we go any further, I need to tell you something."
"Yeah?"
"I—" Eddie starts, then stops. "I have a tattoo."
Steve closes the space that Eddie put between them, reaching for Eddie's right arm and lifting it up to get a better look.
"Holy shit! You do!" Steve mock-gasps, looking away from his arm to Eddie’s face. “And I hate to break it to you, but I'd say you've got at least two on this bad boy." He slaps Eddie’s forearm lightly, the span of his fingers and palm covering at least four little patchwork tattoos.
"Ha ha, sweetheart. You got me." His sarcasm would be a lot more cutting if Eddie wasn't still wearing the ‘breakfast-in-bed followed by morning-sex’ smile. "But, I've got another one. On my chest…one you might not like.”
“God, please tell me you don’t have a tattoo of—"
Eddie cuts him off. “Yup. That’s exactly what I’m telling you.”
