Summary
This is part 4 of "Oh, That's how it is!" series. The characters and storyline will make more sense if you read "That's how it is", "The morning after the night before" and "Then they were two!" first but it can be read as a stand alone. Loki and The Avengers discovered what Hammer Industries and Victor Von Doom were collaborating on. Now they have to find out what further plans they have and stop those plans if necessary. More Avengers learn of Steve and Loki's relationship and we see how they react.

Steve has been appointed as Ambassador to Asgard. It is his job to develop and enhance diplomatic ties between the Realms. Close personal relationships are essential when dealing diplomatically and may involve long intimate meetings and extended periods of time spent together to foster the necessary commitment needed. Steve, being a stickler about committing to doing his job thoroughly and properly if not at all befriends the real power behind the throne of Asgard. Not everyone noticed Steve's efforts or maybe that should be Thor doesn't.

Loki has been on earth for almost a year assisting the Avengers as part of his sentence for attacking Jotunheim and Earth. Steve Rogers and Loki have admitted that their feelings for each other run deeper than just friendship and have started dating. Steve and Loki are savouring the new romance. So far only Thor and Bucky know about the new romance. Will the other Avengers realise and how will they react if they find out?

Steve, sitting on a bench in the park in Brooklyn, was quietly sketching when something or someone caught his attention in his peripheral vision. He turned to look in that direction. The body shape of a man walking along the path to his right looked familiar.
He couldn’t pinpoint who he was reminded of but somewhere in the back of his mind a bell was ringing!

Almost two hours ago every News channel on the Eastern seaboard had reported on the aerial fight above the Potomac River and shown footage live and then recorded of the Hellicarriers exploding and plummeting into the Potomac River. Loki knew for certain, without having to be told, that Steve, his lover, was in the middle of that fight.
Loki wondered, if he had inadvertently witnessed the death of the man he loved?

Summary
Following the defeat of the Dark Elves Loki, for his assistance, had his sentence on Asgard commuted to working with the Avengers to defend Earth. Loki has for almost a year been living in the Avengers' upstate New York facility and works now as part of the Avengers team but is not an Avenger. Bucky Barnes has recovered his memories and is an Avenger in waiting who also lives in the Avengers facility. Over that year Steve has gotten to know Loki and his history, finding to his surprise common ground and more. Steve, Bucky and Loki can regularly be found hanging put together as they adjust to the world they now live in. Loki has learned to trust more than just Thor and Frigga.
