She didn’t want to be a pet…
Winter was getting closer. The nights are getting colder. The wind blew and pricked her skin, her clothes doing nothing to protect against the harsh air.
She didn’t want to freeze…
She rubbed her eyes, tears prickling and the dirt on her hands smeared into mud. Her once light skin is now darker from dirt and sun exposure.
She didn’t want to be dirty…
Food was scarce and hard to come by in the wild, monsters didn’t need to throw away food either, leaving trash cans full of inedibles.
She didn’t want to starve…
Watching the skeletons, she curled up closer to the tree trunk watching them eat around the dining table. He still had that sad look to his eyelights, but he was smiling and eating with his taller brother. The taller one fussed over him, making grand gestures and talking about what she assumed was his day.
Her stomach growled at the sight of spaghetti on their plates.
She didn’t want to be a pet…

Summary
You’re a young graphic designer still trying to find your footing. Freelance jobs come and go, but nothing ever feels like home—not since you left the Pizzaplex, and the friends you made there, to study abroad.
You tried to move on. You looked for openings, checked every posting, every rumor, but the positions were always filled—or worse, replaced by AI programs churning out lifeless designs. So you buried the ache in your chest with personal projects and late nights, telling yourself that the past belonged in the past.
Then the phone rang.
An unfamiliar voice introduced himself as the new CEO of the Plex—and he wanted you back.
After a blur of online forms and hastily packed bags, you found yourself standing once more before the neon glow that had once defined your world.
The Pizzaplex loomed just as you remembered: bright, overwhelming, alive.
You took a breath, the corners of your mouth lifting into a smile as warmth bloomed in your chest.
After all this time, after everything that had changed…
You were finally home.

Summary
You buy a house for real cheap, Like someone was just trying to sell it and get rid of the thing. You know it's a deal too good to be true, but Goshdamnit, in this economy? If there's ghosts you're just going to have to get along.
After a few weeks you hear a strange banging noise coming from the guest room. You look for the source until you realize the guest room is a little bit smaller? You realize it's a false wall. In an act of desperation you take a crowbar to it.
Behind the hidden wall, you find a door. You say "F@ck it we ball" and tell the specters to just keep it down at night. In the room sitting on a chair, is a surprisingly cute little porcelain skeleton plush? It has ceramic hands that clack, little fuzzy shoes, a soft blue tunic, and it doesn't even look malicious with the big eyes and dopey grin. You ask it what it wants and if it can just leave you the hell alone at night. It doesn't move, doesn't twitch, doesn't utter a sound. You really don't want to throttle a cursed doll, sounds like bad juju. You leave it alone. When you opened the wall you broke the salt rim behind the door. When you check the next day the doll is gone.
