"Why?" Katara asks him. She does not understand. Aang hums, as if contemplating.
"Because I have the option to be kind, instead of cruel," he responds with a breath, close to a sigh, by her hair. "And I think Azula needs some kindness."
"She killed you," Katara choked.
"I know," Aang says gently. "You don't have to forgive her, Katara. This is just like before, isn't it? You don't have to forgive her, but you don't have to stay angry forever, either."
"I don't think I know how to stop being angry," Katara whispers.
"Me neither," she can feel how his lips smiled on her forehead. "Me neither."
Katara doesn't forgive.

She watched his thumb sweep over her knuckles. Once. Twice. The familiar lines of his tattoos, the flex of his tendons, and the roughness of his palms.

“I’m pregnant.”
The words hung in the air, caught in amber, thudding against the peaceful silence of a house that had become their home. She felt as though she’d dropped something priceless, fragile, and it was up to him to catch it before it came crashing to the floor.

The plan was simple: finish college with a degree in medicine, work hard to get that specialty, get a nice job, date the love of your life for a few years before getting engaged, have a beautiful wedding surrounded by family and close friends, buy a house with a big yard, and then have at least two kids. Taking a pregnancy test in her tiny bathroom while being single and living in a one-bedroom apartment definitely wasn’t part of her life goals.
Five weeks after her vacation, Katara discovered she was pregnant by a man she didn't really know.

Katara had chased her academic passions and finally landed her dream job. It had taken bitter work, costing her relationship and passion for art. She had broken herself into pieces for this job and is now suffering the consequences. The only outlet she had, now getting on the nerves of her roommate. As such Toph suggests something new. Attempt to reignite her love for art while redirecting her seemingly endless libido.
