Everyone knew that the sky above Dragonstone belonged to monsters. Ancient creatures born from fire and blood, remnants of Old Valyria that had once reduced kingdoms to ashes beneath their wings.
Below them, banners of Houses Celtigar, Massey, Sunglass, Baratheon and Targaryen snapped violently in the sea wind hard enough to sound like whips. Nobles had crowded every balcony and terrace carved into the mountains of Dragonstone.Their silks and cloaks thrashing wildly as all of them craned their necks skyward as dragons flew overhead like gods of Old Valyria reborn.
They had gathered to witness something many once believed impossible after the Dance of the Dragons.
