Summary
“Alright,” Lucifer says, turning back to the counter to take the next customer’s order, “And what can I get started for yo—”
His smile pulls tight and uncomfortable across his face, surely looking more akin to a grimace than anything resembling the simple joy that was present only moments before.
Not him again…
“Do you typically take this long to acknowledge a customer, or are you just feeling especially inadequate today?” Alastor’s voice is irritatingly soothing, full of an easy confidence that Lucifer would love to say is misplaced—but, frustratingly, he can’t.
The man has been coming here for the better part of three months. Danced in on a breeze from out of town, some sort of up-and-coming audio engineer trying to wiggle his way into the recording booth, from what Lucifer had been able to gather.
Innocent. Innocuous.
It wasn’t something he’d normally have any issue with and, though their first meeting in the café hadn’t exactly been warm and fuzzy, it wasn’t outright hostile, either. There was something off about him that Lucifer couldn’t quite put a finger on—until the bodies started piling up.

Summary
Lucifer sighs dramatically, playing it up for his daughter who is still a kid and has a bedtime, and it’s already getting late. “I hope whoever lives here doesn’t mind us hanging out until the rain slows down,” he says, observing the way the magnolia tree bravely attempts to keep the rain at bay.
“Well, I don’t mind, but you might as well knock and introduce yourself while you’re here.” An amused voice drawls from behind them.
Lucifer does not yelp. Though he can attest for sure that Charlie has no reaction. What a brave daughter.
He turns around, ready to (lightly) scold the house owner for scaring them on Halloween, of all nights, but he stops in his tracks.
Because holy fucking shit.
If he didn’t know he was bisexual before, he would be going through a lot more crises right now. Thankfully he was very out and comfortable with his identity, and was very single.

Summary
Alastor heaves a long-suffering sigh. “Vox!” he greets. “What an unpleasant surprise.”
“Alastor,” Vox acknowledges with just as much cheerful contempt. “How are you doing this Hellish morning, old pal?”
“Up until ten seconds ago, absolutely fantastic!” Alastor glances at the proffered gift in Vox’s hands, mockery at the ready. “Really now, Vox, this is getting quite pathetic. How many times must I rebuff your advances for the point to stick in that flat screen of yours?”
Said screen’s signal jams, displaying a glimpse of an error message, before Vox’s face reappears. “Charming as always, Al,” he says with a pinched smile. “But rest assured, these are not for you.”
