Summary
When he inhaled, the Fortress exhaled for him.
Symbiosis was a peculiar thing. If he wanted to protect the people residing within these walls that were now a part of him, he would need to keep this hunger at bay, and his wits about him. Even now, Wriothesley could feel the fishhook-like tendrils in his brain twisting and pulling, yanking on him like a marionette, demanding he do their bidding.
If he slipped up, people would die. If he gave up, someone else would have to suffer. Wriothesley needed to turn this stalemate into a checkmate, but that begged the question how. How did one outmaneuver the thing that pumped his very blood, breathed his air and occupied every corner of his mind.

Summary
Neuvillette raised a single eyebrow as he approached the bed, no doubt in response to the probably goofy expression on Wriothesley's face. The warden ducked his chin, hiding the grin and the flush threatening to take over his visage in the soft pillow below.
"What could possibly have you so reticent?"
Wriothesley dared not lift his face, lest the hundreds of adjectives and confessions fighting for dominance in his mind spill past the carefully-guarded barrier of his lips. He hummed instead, a noncommittal noise that only served to further pique Neuvillette's curiosity as he settled on the edge of the bed. Wriothesley felt it dip with his weight, and subconsciously leaned closer still, pulled in by the gravity of their mutual affections.

Summary
After all, there was only so long he could go dodging gentle touches, kind words, and each of Neuvillette's beseeching "I love you” before he had to admit that he had a problem. Deflection was a skill he'd cultivated, a charming second skin that took praise and analyzed it for underlying motive before chewing it up and spitting it out like the rancid and untrue thing he knew any such flattery must be. By now, Wriothesley was an expert at fielding compliments without internalizing a single one.
Praise was poison for the weak.
(But he craved it. Oh, how he wanted to hear it, and not just that, but to believe it.)
Wriothesley and Neuvillette use some familiar bondage techniques to address Wriothesley's inability to trust the kindness of others in the hopes of deepening their own trust and furthering the intimacy of their relationship.

"What are you thinking about?" Neuvillette inquired against his skin, lips whispering over possessive bite-marks made with heightened emotion and pleasure.
"Time. You, me…Us." Wriothesley's pointer finger continued to carve delicate lines between dragon scales, until he involved all of his fingers, stroking them lightly up and down Neuvillette's spine, his lingering caresses a testament of his stalwart adoration.

Summary
He forced a slow, quiet breath past his lips to ease the sudden, suffocating tension. He had seen this coming, he’d always known it was a possibility, but it was still an incredibly bitter pill to swallow among the many he had already choked down. Because in the end, this was his definitive reality.

Summary
Whilst working on the estate garden, Wriothesley is accidentally hit by a leyline. However he doesn’t realise and stumbles back into the property with his clothes blown off, parading around a set of black cat ears and a tail.
A couple hours pass and the evening sky filters through the windows, orange rays cascading across the (temporary) cat hybrid and his partner. The latter quietly petting the other’s head in his lap. Soft, rumbling purrs bounce around the tranquil sitting room.
Perhaps being part cat has its perks, that being a mountain of attention from Neuvillette. Wriothesley isn’t complaining.
