Summary
The first time Luffy told Law that he loved him, it was a bright and brilliant day, and Law, very eloquently, had tucked his arms protectively over his stomach, and said, “Don’t say stupid shit that’ll get you killed."
And Straw Hat, being Straw Hat, didn’t react with hurt feelings but rather bewilderment and bluster, yelling, “Hey, what’s the big deal? I’m just saying that I love y-”
It left Law’s mouth before he could think about reconsidering: “STOP.”
The first time Monkey D. Luffy tells Trafalgar Law that he loves him, it doesn't go as well as it should. Law overthinks it, Luffy underthinks it, and somehow it works out.

Summary
Law stands at the helm of a ship that isn’t his.
They need supplies, they need to recover (he needs to recover), they need to go back. He can’t— he doesn’t have another choice. They have to go back to Winner Island as soon as possible, as soon as they’re able. There’s just no other option, here. Not for him. Not when his entire crew, save for Bepo, is somewhere out there. They’re strong. They must have survived.
Law needs them to have survived.
Law and Bepo have commandeered a small marine vessel, but there's a ship that simply won't stop following them, and Law--
Law's having nightmares.

“Luffy-ya? Are you in there? Is everything okay?”
The sleepy voice of Law crossed the door, making Luffy feel even worse.
“All right, Torao! Nothing to worry about!”
Luffy looked back at the mess he had in his arm.
“Erm- I might actually have fucked up a little… Can you come in and help me?”
“Sure, sure. What did you do now?”
Law opened the door, and immediately was hit with the stench of puke, blood, and sweat.
He covered his nose and grimaced, until he noticed Luffy’s tear stained face along with the bloody arm he held up to show Law.
