    Qifrey knows that mixing pleasure and pain is dangerous, but he also knows that he cannot have the former without the latter. He loves Olly too much to drag him into a messy love life on top of everything else.

    Easthies feels inexplicably attracted to Qifrey.

    They both know it's not love but why shouldn't they use each other for pleasure until they get tired of it?

     

    Spoilers up to chapter 95.

    Set between Qifrey's fourth and fifth test. To me, this feels like their (broke?) student days, maybe their early twenties. In my headcanon Easthies is slightly older. Qifrey does not yet wear glasses. I do not write slow burn, I burn the candle on both ends and I aim for maximum emotional damage. To me Orufrey is endgame and Easfrey is delicious, delicious toxic yaoi. I mean look at that dirty look at the very beginning of chapter 50.

    Looking at him right now, awash with red glow, Shinji thinks he looks too big for this world. Like it can just barely contain him. To Shinji, Aizen leaving has always been a matter of sooner or later—not a possibility, but an eventuality. A hermit crab must change homes after outgrowing its shell. A child must buy new clothes when they get too tall. It’s matter of fact; obvious and inevitable.

    Set in Turn back the pendulum arc, canon-compliant, mostly Shinji's POV. A fleeting moment shared between Shinji and Aizen, and the words left unsaid thereafter.
