Summary
Father Gustave Moreau knows three things when he arrives at Saint-Élie: his flock is wealthy, his predecessor is dead, and the bishop has warned him about the Dessendres.
Verso Dessendre knows three things when he comes to Mass with blood under his nails and sin on his tongue: he killed the woman who broke him, he wants to fuck his priest, and he's not sure which sin is worse.
Father Gustave has one answer: come to me. Bleeding or whole. Just come.
What they build is a private religion—one where worship happens on knees, absolution is paid in pain, and the only miracle is the moment a sinner learns to let himself be touched gently.
Or : Verso Dessendre didn't believe in God until a priest put his mouth on him and called it prayer.

Summary
When Gustave re-joins his old dive crew, he doesn't expect to find their newest member so attractive, or so irritating. Verso pushes the boundaries of what is safe or practical for a human diver, taking risks that should by all rights have gotten him killed. He's reckless, arrogant, and a show-off. But there's something about him that draws Gustave like a moth to a flame.

Summary
In Lumière, where the city breathes steam and gold light through fractured streets, engineer Gustave lives a practical life built on calculations, infrastructure, and things that make sense. Then he collides with a stranger who feels disturbingly familiar.
Verso is sharp-eyed, scarred, and impossible to fully understand. He speaks like someone who has seen too much, watches Gustave like he already knows him, and carries an exhaustion that feels older than the city itself.
Gustave cannot explain why being near him feels less like meeting someone new and more like remembering something he was never meant to forget.
And Verso cannot stop looking at him like he is standing too close to the edge of a tragedy only one of them can see.
