Still, nothing had made her fear for her life like the murderous and disappointed looks Lilith and Beatrice were respectively giving her at this very moment.

Summary
The wait between Beatrice lifting her hand and it reaching Ava’s face is almost agonizing. Her knuckles drift across Ava’s cheekbone, as if she isn’t sure what Ava’s skin will feel like when she touches it. Except, of course she does. Beatrice has a penchant for touching her face - something Ava found she craved whenever they were together. It’s an intimacy between them that began long before they’d made a life in the Alps. Worked a normal job together. Shared a bed in a tiny apartment. As soon as Beatrice makes contact with her skin, she lets out a relieved sigh, as if she expected Ava to run again.
Despite being someone who doesn't think fondly of God, Ava knows that Beatrice’s touch is exactly what heaven would feel like. Or should. Maybe God should take requests.

Summary
It takes a lot of strength to go back to Switzerland. This is where she found her home, where she built her home. Where she learned the holiness that is Ava Silva. She is eight months into her travels. She’s visited each of the locations that Ava had postcards of. Even added a few of her own.
But it feels right to head back to Switzerland now. As much as she doesn’t want to believe it, as much as her heart protests it, her brain knows that after this much time Ava likely isn’t going to return to her. So Beatrice decides that if she cannot have Ava she will go to the last place that she did.

It was hot, and kind of funny considering the reason behind why she was a nun in the first place. “If you make a comment about how easily I unclasped it you’ll be left alone in this tub to prune for the rest of the evening”
