You deserve it. You brought it on yourself. He saw you for the fraud you are. An outsider, unloveable and unworthy. As the Pokédex becomes more complete this icy feeling of emptiness grows. If you lose your role as a Survey Corps member then you lose absolutely everything.
You unravel, powerless to stop it. You feel abysmally alone. Everything reminds you of him. It’s eviscerating. You’ll do anything to mute your emotions. To stop the ice from spreading. To justify your continued existence. Even if it leads you falling down a hole.
EDIT: This work is sadly on indefinite hiatus as you could probably tell, I’m just not fixated on PLA anymore and I’ve shifted to pursuing other interests and projects. Perhaps one day I’ll come back to this? But I make no promises. Thank you all for your kind words and support though! It really meant a lot to me as I wrote this fic during a profoundly difficult time in my life!
