That’s a fucking kid, is the first thing that Iruka thinks.

That’s the fucking jinchuriki, is the second.

The first thought comes back, even stronger, overwhelming him with outrage, with fury, with a sick sort of disgust, and now it comes out as a shouted,

    “That’s a fucking kid.”

    Summary

Iruka had just gotten used to being the focus of Hatake Kakashi’s incredibly intense attention (and had even allowed himself the fanciful notion that the famous Copy-Nin might like him romantically) when Kakashi was captured after a mission.

Kakashi returned to the village fundamentally changed. Rumors swirled that Kakashi had finally lost it, that he was off active duty, that he was jumping at shadows.

Kakashi was avoiding Iruka, only coming to him in moments of great anguish, but Iruka wouldn’t allow Kakashi to suffer alone, or run away from their blooming relationship.

    Summary

Aizawa opened his mouth to say something before he finally got a glimpse of the time traveling trio and he deflated, somehow looking even more exhausted than before.

“How is it even possible that- no actually, I’m not surprised.” He sighed deeply, looking at the older versions of his students. “I expect this from the two problem children, but you Todoroki? I’m amazed they dragged you into this.”

    ...

“When I got calls about a loud noise complaint at 1 A.M. I definitely wasn’t expecting the issue would be a time travel quirk.” Aizawa huffed before continuing, “Never a dull moment.”

    Summary

Sakura observes. She catalogs behaviors, maps social patterns, and reduces emotional chaos to manageable data. Her notebook holds the Academy's ecosystem in precise, clinical notes.

Naruto measures. He tracks the decibels of his silence, counts avoidant glances, and maps Konoha's streets by glare density. His journal is a ledger of absence.

When Sakura's observation shifts from academic curiosity to visceral concern, and Naruto's measurements begin recording an anomalous variable—her—they embark on a silent, joint research project: can loneliness be solved? Can pain be translated into a language they can both understand?

A story about the quiet physics of human connection, the architecture of scars, and how sometimes, saving someone begins with simply understanding the units they use to measure their own despair.
