Can’t believe this started as just a silly little drabble. Turned into one of the best CoD fics.

Found myself coming back to this so often that I just had to bookmark it. I’m not necessarily a Ghost/Soap gal but this makes me a believer. Absolutely delicious.

    Summary

"You wanted to know what I do for a living."

Not only did he contact her, he sent her a picture of himself looking like… like war. The tired eyes stared at her from inside what looked like the top of a human skull attached to a black balaclava. He wasn't a foot soldier, or a mercenary, he wasn't even working for the UK version of a SWAT team. He was something else. She didn't even have a name for all the gear he was loaded with.

    "Still want to see me?"

    --

A uni student who pole dances at a strip club to pay her rent encounters a mysterious giant of a soldier seemingly incapable of falling in love.

    Bookmarker's Notes

This author is absolutely phenomenal. I’ve been binging all their works for the past few days and I’m so in love. I’d bookmark all their works and spend hours detailing how good they are, but I figure it’s just easier to bookmark my favorite.

This work is . . . hooh boy. An absolute rollercoaster of emotions. The angst is so natural and heart-wrenching. The struggles of loving a soldier like Simon felt so real. And the small, fluffy domestic moments. Ugh, my heart. I especially like how Sarah and Simon are constantly changing to fit each other better, even if it is a bumpy road. (It shows in the sequel how much they’ve grown).

It felt like love. True, painful, real love. That’s the best way I can describe. Definitely recommend, a thousand times over.
