Bum is haunted by his upbringing, every life altering trauma written plain as day on his pallid face. He finds temporary solace in a charming smile, broad shoulders, kind eyes. And the quiet, yet horrifically violent mind that blocks out everyone else every time he comes within Bum’s line of sight.
Not much else can soothe a painfully neurotic psychic.
“Is this all?” The man asks kindly, his fingertips briefly brushing the back of Bum’s scrawny hand as he lifts the packet of instant noodles. Bum nearly breaks his neck just nodding eagerly. “Hm. Is this all you eat?” A wider, toothier smile. Bum tries to mimic it, eyes glistening. “Any vegetables? Aren’t you worried you’ll get fat?”
Bum swallows and fumbles for a response, still gazing at the man. “Ah- I- don’t… eat it much, h-hah… sorry…”
What the fuck is he apologizing for? Is he actually slow, or something? The man’s expression is unshifting even as Bum recoils from the scorn of his thoughts. “Cash or card?”

Or: A story in which Jashin is pissed about losing his most beloved disciple and therefore curses Shikamaru with insanity while at the same time blessing Hidan with someone to match his crazy with.
