Where Zandik had stumbled, Dottore played perfectly. It is, technically, a superior performance. Where age had stiffened Zandik's fingers and stolen the fluid ease of youth, Dottore played without fault. If he were a fairer man, he would have complimented Dottore, whose body has never, and never will, experience the weight of time.
Pantalone is aware of this. He is also aware that he does not care. He will admit, nostalgia does make him a little biased, and Pantalone finds that he still prefers Zandik's playing. He's certain that he always will.

The first time Feofan had encountered the Doctor, Second of the Tsaritsa’s Fatui Harbingers, it was from the cold metal of an operating table.
The final glimpse Feofan had of Zandik, his partner in every way that mattered and the one he knew was his soulmate, was of him lying on the very same table, preyed on vultures that shared his face.
NOTE: next update to this will be a rewrite of chapters 1-5, there will be no major changes to the plot, so rereading will be entirely optional, but will probably give you the best experience of this fic :)

Normal people, Hakari thinks as Kashimo’s fist shatters into his skull out of nowhere, would ask for a quickie on one of the boxes stacked in the back of the drugstore they've found themselves in. But Kashimo’s not like that; he’s a killer on the search for someone even worse than him, and Hakari’s the fool to indulge him.
Kashimo acts like a brat and Hakari fucks him with his staff.
