It’s a special night for a couple of reasons: for one, Lynne just got her third paycheck as a real detective, and that means she’s finally got money to spend again; secondly, and more importantly, it’s now been one full month since Lynne was able to take Kamila in, and that’s an anniversary Lynne is willing to splurge on.
She just really hopes it’s enough.

It occurs to him now that he is still in his office, having slept on the couch, and that the attorney currently laying on the hardwood hadn’t left in the following hours. “Are you alright?"

He pushed his wet hair away from his forehead and squeezed as much moisture out of his scarf as he could. He hadn't thought to take an umbrella with him when he'd heard the news.
