Summary
And with a shock they realize they are Thalia. They remember the grief, the hopelessness, the humiliation. It is a blow that nearly buckles the timbers. But they are Thalia, they are Thalia, they are themself again, they are Branched-
They flood outward in a rush of flowers and ivy. Roses curl and etch their patterns as they dig and spread their roots. And they buck against the crumbling shackles, shoving out, out, splintering into jagged needles as their branches grow and break.
(Two Branched make two choices.)

Summary
“Does the Divine Principality ever stop?” Phrygian asks.
“Yes,” Figure A says.
They double-take, despite themself. They hadn’t actually expected an answer.
“Yes,” Phrygian repeats, suddenly unsure. “You’re sure of that? You saw it in the machine?”

Summary
Phrygian doesn’t feel like they had when they’d finally fallen asleep. The apartment that is their friend’s body is dark and cold. All the warmth has leached out of the bedsheets. The pillows are clammy. Figure breathes out, and mist touches the air. Is it actually morning? They can’t tell.
“Phrygian?” he asks.

Summary
"Can I help?" Phrygian asks.
Jesset shrugs, and then winces in pain from the movement. “Ah– fuck. I don't know, man. Ask the doctors, I guess.”
“No, I mean…” They pause, searching for the words. “Is there a thing that you need that I can be right now?”
Or, Phrygian shares a moment of closeness with a wounded, weary friend.

Summary
Phrygian moves through Millennium Break in the years before Palisade, entangling with the people around them in the process. The most incidental and yet most bizarrely persistent of these connections are with one Eclectic Opposition, and one Exeter Leap.

Summary
« You're quiet, » Corrasion remarks. Their currents shift around the flat rocky outcropping that Phrygian is sprawled on top of, deadly foam brimming up at every turn. They are a moat of turquoise around their one safe patch of ground, gradually wearing away at it. It's too slow to be of immediate threat to them, at least physically, and outside of implications. They apparently have deigned to show them that much courtesy.
« I guess so, » Phrygian says.
« Unsatisfied? »
« Yes, » they say. « Obviously. »

Asbestine Infelidel (or: Marn and Pickman agree to perform a task of grim necessity on the third quiet day) by Aterikakaal (Biorenewologist)

Summary
Marn and Pickman accept a task from a mysterious stranger. Marn encounters someone who would like a bribe, or maybe some fish jerky. Pickman has her suspicions about whether a cat is 1) bloodthirsty, 2) poisonous, 3) religious, 4) inflammable, or 5) cursed. They go on a nice walk through the autumn leaves together, on a mostly ordinary day.
Our piece for Secret Samol 2022.

Summary
Ooga was more than ready to put the whole 'gem started losing power and the whole tribe nearly died' thing behind him, but not everyone agreed with him. Klik is still bitter about not getting to see the gods himself, even though the gods were actually just a bunch of jerks called totems who can't agree on anything. He's starting to see weird stuff that no one else can. And on top of it all, an awful lot of outside forces seem to be taking a sudden interest in their tribe, and he has no idea what to do about it.
They could at least have the decency to leave him alone while he's fishing.

Summary
Important things usually only happen once. That's what makes them important. Even if you screwed up and somehow got a second chance at the important thing, it wouldn't be quite as special anymore.
Thaco showing up at the village after being gone for years is something important for various reasons, and obviously deserving of a joyful reunion. Being bad at that sort of thing seems to be genetic.

Discount on omnipotence [redemption sold separately] by Biorenewologist

Summary
It had taken a long time, but V had finally started trancing regularly again. The nightmares had died down, though they still struck now and again, and all seemed well. Relatively so, considering the elf was a mass murderer.
V had been getting better. Blackwing had been careful. It had been going so well, which of course meant that something was going to ruin the whole thing.
Damn those fiends. Damn that stupid wall carving that shoved the enormity of Familicide back in their face. Damn the stupid pits of hell. V had been getting better, and now that was all ruined.

Summary
Natal celebrations, material donations, and awkward congratulations. That's basically what birthdays entail.
Homestuck has a bunch of friends [?] to provide the first, a bunch of acquaintances to offer him the second, and a brother to help him avoid the third as much as possible. They do not show up in this order. He also has a loving father to provide some other service, and it probably rhymes with preemptive rejuvenations or something.
It's a pretty important day, and he's still waiting for the damned story title to drop.

Summary
On the one hand, he should be glad that Ooga hadn't ever had to deal with the things he had gone through. His life might as well have been tripping from one trauma into another, getting back up, and still managing to squeeze in a few moments of genuine happiness in between.
On the other, Ooga didn't have any real coping mechanisms, because no tragedy stuck for long. He was fire barely held together by skin and blue eyes, blazing up to scorch away the pain and darkness, eternally refusing to back down. Someone like Ooga didn't have time for losing.
Was it wrong to wish that his friend had more experience with loss? Surely some good would have come out of knowing what it was like to be utterly crushed before he lost his best friend?
