Caleb was a very reclusive person as is. And after (unintentionally) ending his last relationship with Astrid and Eadwulf, he had no particular desire to enter another relationship, sexual or not. Especially not after his days lost to Soltryce. But the entire situation with Mollymauk made Caleb’s heart do somersaults in his chest. Saeko flipped the ends of her hair out of her face, giving her the effect of an above-it-all movie star. “No, nothing like that. I got another new job, and my hours start in the evening and end around this time.”
Nanba raised an eyebrow over the rims of his glasses. “What kind of job requires those kinds of hours?”
“Well,” Saeko started, laying her hands flat in the air the way she always did when she started a story. “There was a bit of a mixup at Hello Work, and they connected me with this place on Romance Street that they thought was a cabaret club. I’m more than qualified, so I made my way over. I figured it would be some easy money, just talking with customers and pouring drinks, right?”
Ichiban and the others nodded in unison.
“But when I got there, I found out the place wasn’t a cabaret club, but a full-blown S&M club!”
“What?!”
