"I have never once thought otherwise." Yuuji traces the very markings that had scorned Sukuna from birth, before he had the arms, the eyes, the mouth. His touch is faint and delicate, as if they are something to be worshipped and adorned.
"I'll say it as many times as I have to, until you believe me."
"Then you'll be saying it for all eternity, little one."
"Good," Yuuji leans in, wraps his arms around Sukuna's neck and bats his eyelashes. "If it means eternity with you."

Sukuna isn’t sure how long this kid’ll stay, if he’ll adapt, if this was a stupid decision or not.
A month passes and he’s still not sure.
He is sure by now that Yuuji is not like anyone he’s ever met before. It took a few weeks for him to open up, still reeling with his grandfather dying and his village abandoning him, but now he’s bloomed.
He runs around the Malevolent Shrine like it’s his own home. He eats every meal with Sukuna, digs around for bugs in the gardens, periodically brings a smile to Uraume’s face at his hide and seek antics. He’s been breathing life into the death trap Sukuna has fostered for millenia.
He finds he doesn’t mind it much.
Or which, Sukuna takes in kid Yuuji, watches him grow up, then realizes he means a lot more to him than intended.

When Yuuji is 14, he comes across something he’s never supposed to.
A room, his father's room, a sukunas room. A room in the mansion's basement that his father forbids him from exploring, a room that Yuuji spends 14 agonizing years obsessing over.
When the teen steps into the room he’s hit with a room full of paintings, paintings of him painted by his father. He’d recognize that art style anywhere, that beautifully disturbing art style. Oil paintings carefully depict him in various positions, naked, him playing with himself in bed naked, him standing under a waterfall naked, him kneeling down and looking up naked. It's beautiful, horrifyingly so, the way each stroke of paint builds a perfect image of him that's engraved in a canvas for eternity.
Yuuji checks the date on the back of the largest and greatest painting. March 20th, 1993.
The room only fuels the embers in his heart to grow into an uncontrollable wildfire. Yuuji finds himself unable to deal with the erotic feelings he holds towards his father.

"Yuji." Sukuna calls, brushing the back of his hand against Yuji's temple to catch a stray bead of sweat forming. "Yuji, wake up" he urges again, scratching lightly at the boy's scalp to try and stir him from the nightmares. Yuji's eyes are bloodshot and teary when they shoot open. "Sukuna?" He whispers, realizing where he is, "sorry, you had to bring me here again." A tear slips free as he turns his face downwards in a mix of sadness and frustration at himself. Sukuna wipes away the tear saying, "never apologize for actions that are not your own, I wouldn't have brought you here if it was a burden to me."
Yuji nods against his hand, quiet in his response other than a small sniffle. "You can tell me about it, if you think that would help," Sukuna offers despite already knowing the contents of the nightmare, "Or I can offer a distraction."
