She was rewarded with that same short intake of breath again; the one that meant she was winning.

It was a glorious moment- and Hawkmoth almost felt giddy, but as he glared down at the young super hero, he didn’t feel so triumphant at all.
Something was off with the cat child. His eyes were red and his movements were slow, sluggish and he didn’t quip back half as many puns as he should have. And thus, without creative dialogue, their fight seemed to become all the more serious.
