Man her own ship, the COP-9, make her own trades and deals to earn the company money, order around her own crew, the optimistic and occasionally frustratingly-empathetic pilot N, and the rowdy but effective engineer V (with whom she definitely has NO PAST WITH). When a job comes across her desk promising a hefty reward for a heftier stretch of time traversing in Hyper-Space, she takes it immediately. It's only a month and a half, sure she has to spend it on a ship with N and V of all people, but what trouble could they really cause her?
