Summary
In a mystical world where magic, dragons, witches, and dragon witches exist, soulmates bear words on their skin that they've heard used to describe them until they touch one another. Virgil, the son of a navy captain, is expected to be perfect, and to do so, must hide the array of words adorning his skin. The fact that they appear in five different colors is quite distressing, and his father would surely hate him if he knew about them.
Across the ocean, a pirate ship named The Arcane Queen, manned by five already very powerful lovers, is hunting for their last remaining soulbound. They are known as The Legion, feared by humanity and mystical creatures alike as they scour the oceans for any news or trace of their missing piece.
After all, the purple words that appear on their skin are quite concerning.

“Congratulations on getting nine out of ten questions correct! Without further ado, let’s move on to the last question..” Hanazawa paused for dramatic effect as the lights dimmed and the spotlights overhead honed in on their podiums.
“What is … your hero partner’s type?”
A brief silence.
“‘Type?’” Izuku questioned at the same time as Kacchan.
“Yes, type,” the host laughed. “Like, who would they date? What are they into?”
The blood drained from Izuku’s face and he shot a panicked look at Kacchan. The blond didn’t seem to be faring any better, his gaze zeroed in on Hanazawa as if he could will her to change the question to something else.
Izuku... didn't know the answer to that.

In his sorrow, he feels something pulling at his sleeve. A call to adventure, to travel to the dark, gothic castle at the top of a cliff, where the reclusive Earl Sinclaire of London resides. His peers advise him to not go, but oh, his heart says to travel onwards, despite knowing that it will only be detrimental.
Thus, Roman must choose between his head and his heart. Which one is correct? No matter what he chooses, is it even the correct choice?

This is not completely mine! I read this story and fell in love with it, but the account is orphaned so I don't know how to credit or contact the initial creator. I loved the storyline but had some personal ideas to make it less crack- so if you don't mind re-writes, please enjoy!
Original Summary:
Virgil is just another emo teenager trying to survive through high school. He has a grand total of 1 friend in school (who he would die for in an instant); he gets bullied for his name, the way he dresses, basically everything about him; and he's friends with 4 of the worlds most well-known prodigies. Oh, and he also is a prodigy himself. Doubling as the best-selling author Anxiety, how will Virgil cope when his 4 famous online friends show up at his school for the year? Watch as this poor gay tries (and fails) at keeping his identity hidden from his 4 Friends In High Places (De's just there for the ride).

Patton rushed into the grand breakfast hall of Auradon, his footsteps light and eager as he pushed open the towering doors. "Roman! Roman, I have to ask you something super important!" he called out, practically bouncing on his heels as he entered.
Roman froze mid-reach for his tea, his smile faltering as a slight groan escaped his lips. "Oh, stars, Patton, what are you about to say?"
Patton’s energy only seemed to grow at Roman’s reaction. He practically bounced on his toes, his hands flailing dramatically as he exclaimed, "WE INVITE THEM OVER!"

Summary
Virgil Anxiety Black was in his room recovering from a panic attack when the castle is stormed. His best friend, Remus Lucious, has just enough time to help him escape before throwing himself back into the battle in an effort to save his boyfriend and Virgil's brother, Crown Prince Janus. Virgil finds himself running through the woods and unknowingly crosses the border between his kingdom and the kingdom next door.
There Virgil is found by Crown Prince Roman, Remus's semi-long not exactly lost twin. Not recognizing Virgil as royalty and only seeing the garbs that show him as a citizen of another kingdom Roman does what he thinks is best.
He gives the poor boy a panic attack while simultaneously arresting him and throwing him in the dungeons
After a few hurt feelings and a couple of death stares the Light Realm learns what transpired next door. In an effort to help both kingdoms Roman and Virgil make a truce and put aside their differences. Roman and his two friends, Patton and Logan, join Virgil in this epic quest to save their brothers and the Dark Realm kingdom.
Like any great tale this book is filled with Fear! Love! Betrayal! Heartbreak and Despair!
