Summary
Nearly a year after the events of spider-verse, the spider gang find themselves captured and turned into living experiments by Doc Ock. She wants revenge for what they did to her super collider, and the best way to get it is to degrade them to simple minded lizards and study them.
The thing is, they aren't actually simple minded. They have retained their human minds, and must hide their intelligence until they grow big enough to escape.
Now they have to navigate the world in unfamiliar bodies while also trying to do their jobs as spider people.

Summary
Mao Mao is the alpha in this universe, but it doesn't make it any easier for her. She still paints freckles with clay, tastes poisons and is completely indifferent to the smells of people, even the sweetest ones. Jinshi is an omega, and hides among the harem not only from the royal title, desperately resisting his own nature and using his beauty as a weapon.
And even so, they still meet.

Summary
"Would you like me to lock the door, Master Jinshi?" That title, rather than the more formal your highness, is one of her few concessions to the strange dance of politics and position they've been engaged in since they met—she an alpha, he a prince. It's a bigger question wrapped up in the neat packaging of simple words. What Maomao is really asking is if he wants her to be Maomao the dutiful court servant right now, or if he needs her to be Maomao the Alpha.
She's refused to claim him, even though he's asked, but she never actually refuses him comfort.
"Please," he says politely. He could order her to do it, he knows; with that door unlocked, they're still technically in public, and if Jinshi is an omega, he's also a prince.
But he doesn't really want to be her prince, right now. He doesn't want to give Maomao orders. He never has.
Or, Jinshi finally gets what he wants.

"Master Jinshi, I think I'm pregnant," Maomao says. Such simple, wonderful words, yet he already feels lightheaded picturing all the things that'll need to go right for this to not go horribly wrong.
