“Morning sweetheart.”
You turn, and the very first voice you hear sends your pulse racing. it hits you like the crack of a whip and your shoulders stiffen.
Douglas sighs under his breath. “Ah. And that,” he says in a tone of resigned amusement, “would be our resident… meteorological personality.”
You pivot.
Vincent Whittman leans casually against a camera rig, hands in his pockets, tie loosened, smirk firmly in place. Like he owns the air you’re breathing.
“Well,” he drawls, pushing off the rig and strolling over, “if it isn’t my favorite morning disruption.” Irony driping of his mouth.Your jaw clenches.
Douglas gestures politely but entirely uninterested.
“Miss, this is Mr. Vincent Whittman—our weather reporter.”Vincent steps closer, mismatched eyes gleaming with amused recognition.
Of course.
All of New York City, millions of people, and the one arrogant prick you managed to piss off before eight in the morning turns out to be a higher-ranked coworker.

Summary
The figure seemed to already have noticed your presence. It shifted slightly, and the desert air seemed to vibrate with a low hum. The sensation of electricity grew stronger, and you could feel it humming through your bones. The figure took a step forward, and you saw that it was indeed a Robot, a being from another world or dimension, come to life right before your eyes. You knew it wasn´t human made. It´s shape, it´s way to move – all o fit brought back memories you had long ago abandoned.
For a moment, time seemed to stand still. The robots gaze—or whatever it used to perceive its surroundings—was locked on you. It was as if it was assessing you, evaluating whether it should act or not. In the end it just let out a defeated beeping sound.
„Bee, it´s truly Energon! It´s deep but we should be able to ,- Oh crap,-“

“It’s not about the party,” Shadow said finally, his voice quieter now. “It’s... about keeping promises.”
Sonic blinked, surprised by the admission. “Promises? To Rouge?” It made sense that Promises where important to him, but it still was a bit out of place when he said it so straight.
Shadow didn’t answer directly, instead letting out a low sigh. “She insisted I come. Said it wouldn’t feel complete without me here.”
Sonic grinned. "She’s got a point. It’s not every day we get to see Shadow the Hedgehog in a festive setting. You should’ve seen the look on Amy’s face when you walked in—priceless!"
Shadow’s lip twitched, almost like he was suppressing a smirk. "It’s not about that either."
Sonic frowned slightly, leaning a bit closer. "Then what´s it about?"
