“Ask your new friends to help you,” she replied, turning to her stomach, revealing the barely there back of her bikini bottoms.
Draco coughed. “Who? Those girls? We were just chatting about footie.”
“Mmm,” Hermione hummed, tuning him out. She had lost her place on the page. She needed to focus.
He lay beside her, finally letting the sun's warmth kiss her skin again.
“You're not peeved about me talking to them, are you?” She could hear the glee in his voice.
She looked at him. He was propped up on his forearms, his abs tensed, and his head tilted back.
“I am annoyed that you just stopped our game. I waited for you for a solid ten minutes before giving up,” she spat out.
“A solid ten minutes? Did you time it, you little swot?”
She could feel her cheeks blushing red. She could blame it on the sun. “Whatever, you wasted my time. So no, I will not help you put on sunscreen.”

Hermione knew what she was doing. The moment she arrived back home from uni, she’d called up Ginny and gotten straight into her beaten-up sedan in search of the perfect swimsuit to torture Draco in all summer.
Orange had never been her color per se, but this particular bikini fit her body in all of the right places and left little to the imagination. Good. She would need it if she were going to drive Draco mad and break through whatever “I’m your (step)brother” façade he would attempt to erect.
It turned out that seducing someone you’d known most of your life, who you’d once shared a bunkbed with, was apparently a thing of fiction. But, she was Hermione Granger, and her step-father hadn’t raised a quitter. Or someone who took no for an answer.
