He really needed to get a grip, Alan told himself, as he slowly erased the word "Victim" from the name column. He had tried multiple times already, it wasn't like it was going to magically work now that he did it just a few days later. Alan blinked slowly at the screen, the computer screen lighting up his face in the dark room.
Maybe it just needed more time.
So he typed out the name "Victim" again, quickly hitting enter and feeling immensely disappointed but not surprised when it didn't work. Alan clicked on his mouse again and again repeatedly. Why wasn't it working? Why? It was like he was being punished for nothing, it was like his own computer was turning on him. Alan sighed and just slammed his head on his table, closing his eyes in defeat.
Or; Alan struggles to cope with the fact that his creation wasn't coming back again.
Or; Alan has weird maternal instinct with Victim for some reason.

victim flinches when the pointer changes shape. He braces himself for the cruel torment to begin all over again.
Instead, words appear next to him.
Are you ok?
A spark of anger burns inside him but it is quickly doused. He crumples to the ground, hugging his knees and shakes his head. The animator doesn't respond, forcing victim to drown in the guilt of his own actions.
