What the hell am I doing with my life ye good people
I love tropes with secret relationships/families and ughhh the idea of Agott being their daughter by blood hit me like a freight train
Canon divergence, they live in a magic world and take in apprentices (Qifrey does, anyway), Qifrey took in Coco after the incident with her mother but apart from these plot points, their backstory as well as the judicial system is altered to whatever was fleeting around in my head here. No truly bad things happened to them, no dementia, no weird trees nuh-uh, we write (more or less) happy stories here
Will have multiple chapters and I almost certainly am going to seize the opportunity to reference a bunch of english/scottish traditional songs here

Summary
What if Coco seeing Qifrey cast magic had never been an accident to begin with?
What if instead of Qifrey and Olruggio building their atelier up from the ground together, Qifrey leaves him behind before it can even get so far In order to dabble into the forgotten arts of forbidden magic to aid his search for vengeance against those that had taken both his past and future from him.
Is Coco going to fall down the same dark path in order to save her mother?
And most importantly, will Qifrey ultimatively find a way to free himself of his curse and return to his star's side, or will it inevitably make him choke on the love he feels?

Summary
No one could say they understood the household dynamics within the witch Qifrey’s Atelier. And Olruggio had to admit he didn’t quite understand it either. But as the girls excitedly prepared for the new addition and Qifrey was becoming more concerned with each passing day, Olruggio couldn’t lie and say he hated it. In fact, he was content here, and happy to bring another life into this small, countryside atelier. If only he could figure out why Qifrey was growing more distant.
(In which Olruggio finds himself pregnant. With the help of Qifrey and the girls, they prepare for the new addition even with the ever looming threat of the brimmed caps and whatever was causing Qifrey pain.)

“Dear kind soul, would you like to save your friend from damnation?” An unfamiliar voice called out as Olruggio felt a pair of hands were placed onto his shoulders.
Maybe stars in the sky don’t shine bright for too long, after all. Soon enough, a new celestial embodiment will be born. However, this time, there would be no guiding light, no hope that will push aside all the sorrows.
As a consequence of not being able to keep his star within his sight, Qifrey may have let his most beloved one wander astray. They had injected him with their filth, stripping away his star’s purity.
Or, when in search for a way to save Qifrey at the Tower of Tomes, the star that once shined so brightly now has its light dimmed as a consequence for wandering astray. Now, the both of them have to live in lies, striving to 'protect' one another.
