    “Yes.”

    “With the Galactic Empire,” he attempts to lighten his own mood with the joke, but the response he gets from Ross makes the blood freeze in his veins.

    “They call themselves the Unitary Galactic Communia, actually.”

    If Tony lets his silence speak for itself, it’s only partially because his throat is closing up on him at an alarming rate.

    “I know it sounds bad at first—“

    “Oh no no no, not at all,” Tony interjects quickly, “this is wonderful news. A communia. A unitary one. Sounds very… organized. They must be people who know how to keep an army. Of galactic proportions. This is great, really. Not debilitatingly frightening in the least.”

    ...
    Alternatively: the freshly pardoned Rogues have complaints, Tony is dead on his feet, and Steve has issues with the handsome alien lord who keeps offering Stark the literal universe.

    Eira said some words that sounded like places names, but were unfamiliar. When I did recognize a word, it was Asgard. It was like a poor-quality encyclopedia opened in my mind. Asgard. Norse mythology. Home of the Norse gods. Odin. Frigga. Thor. Loki? I guessed that depended on if he had killed Balder yet.
    Wait- that's not possible. None of that is possible. I would sound like a total idiot or a crazy person if I said any of that out loud. So I started saying places names, too. She looked just as confused as I did, until I (half-jokingly) said 'Earth'.

    A look of understanding blossomed on her face. "Midgard! Your home is Midgard. You are quite lost."

    Basically what might happen if college-aged me was randomly dropped into Asgard one day and got lucky.
    Takes places before and into the events of the Thor movie.
