Summary
While preparing for a long job she'll need to take alone, Lucy discovers a secret left for her to find in the midst of her furious preparations.
The Magical Lands have always laid behind a veil, the Celestial Spirit King's Sky Cloak, that was then pinned down by twelve bronze keys the Heartfilia are charged with keeping. In time, without the Heartfilia to cleanse them every five years, flying over the vast seas and lands of the Beyond, the keys begin to Tarnish. Lucy must race to save them, to help them, but her mother never prepared her and the world is wide, the night is darker than it should be, and she must wrangle with who she is, who she wants to be, and the future beginning to come into view.
The Beyond can only be accessed by a Heartfilia, so Lucy must wade out into the night and sea without Fairy Tail. But she is never alone. Dark as the night becomes, the stars shine and she is there to raise her hand, open and up, for them to take.
