Summary
Effected somehow by the Leviathan, Shepard no longer remembers her romantic relationship with Garrus. But her body doesn’t seem to agree with her new-found tunnel vision. Fighting with her own muscle memory of their time together, mistakes in her past threaten to resurface. Was the Leviathan right? Is the mission the only thing that should ever matter? What could be bigger or more important than saving the entire galaxy?
This is a different and more realistic take on a theory I’d written before in Back Where We Belong, inspired by some of the comments I’d received. I’d planned on putting it in as a Part 3, but I think it is too different and needs a place of its own

Summary
The search parties finally give up and Commander Shepard is listed as Killed In Action. Everyone returns to their own planets, to help with the reconstruction efforts and to move on. When a strangely intact body is found Miranda is called in as an expert, but if it is Shepard, no one would want to see her this way. She takes her to a hidden lab, not wanting to tell everyone until she is sure it is Shepard and that she will survive.

Miranda was devastated for Shepard’s sake, for the first time second guessing if she should have kept it a secret… if she should have tried to bring her back at all. Would she have been better off just slipping into the pages of history she herself had written? Shepard deserved a life of happiness after what she had done for the galaxy, but would she be able to find it without Garrus? -

Summary
This is my own take on the Beauty and the Beast story. It has always been my favorite fairy tale and I've often been inspire by the earlier versions. I'd heard of some different plot twists (not giving away any spoilers) but hadn't been able to find any official copies, so I created one of my own.
This is my more detailed version of this story. I've also posted one that is more acceptable for a wider age-range if any of the intimate parts are not something you're interested in. They are exactly the same until the second half and the ending.

Summary

This second piece is like the opposite partner to the first, or the 'other Shepard' she switched places with.
Original prompt for those starting here:
Shepard is transported from identical universes, except for one important fact; one is a place where she was and stayed with Kaidan, the other she’d moved on with Garrus after the events at Horizon. In each universe she came from, she’d picked one over the other and caused serious damage to the other friendship, putting their current position on thin ice. When she comes in to the other universe, the one she remembered the relationship with is very obviously mad at her, not on speaking terms or not even on the Normandy (an option for Kaidan). Can she prove how she feels, or will she have to come to terms with this new reality, and the feelings she had doubted before.
WARNING: This is a Shepard/Garrus story with mentions of previous Shepard/Kaidan, but this is NOT a fic for Kaidan fans (sorry, but I have my preferences).
