Wait, what friend? There are only four of them- Oh. Then, Jimin realises he is, indeed, that friend. He is basically one step behind sitting on the table between them to get closer to Jungkook, sniffing the air. What the fuck. How did this even happen?

"Seokjin, Namjoon, Yoongi, and Hoseok had gone. Jimin was going tomorrow. Taehyung was next, and then Jungkook. In, one to seven, and inevitably, out, one to seven.
In theory, Taehyung understood what it meant to go to the military, to be ripped away from the lives they'd carved for an unwelcome interruption that had the power to disrupt everything they'd built, and maybe themselves, too. Yet, it had only begun to sink in for Taehyung when Jimin's departure loomed darkly in his rear view mirror, approaching with an implacable velocity."
The night before Jimin enlists, he goes to see Taehyung for one last goodbye, leaving both their hearts in tatters and a request for Taehyung not to contact him. Three months later, Taehyung arrives at the same barracks. At first, anger bubbling brightly, they keep their distance and pretend they don't know each other. But the flame still burns beneath their skins...
