Summary
For a moment, Soap let the silence sink in. Let himself shift his gaze slightly to the side and rest on Ghost’s thick thigh, fat with the softness of his relaxed muscle, lightly dusted with fine blond hairs. He wanted to sweep the tips of his fingers delicately over those hairs, see if they were as downy as they looked. Wanted to see the way Ghost’s muscles would twitch at the sensation, wanted to see if he’d shy away or press into the touch. Wanted to know if he’d like it.
Would probably end up with a knife in his gut, but at this point, Soap thought it was probably worth it. For one touch, it might be worth it.
It's 3:30 in the morning, and Soap and Ghost can't sleep. How will they pass the time.

Soap's hand is frantic, out of the gate like a greyhound at the track, his long fingers fisted into a hot, dense tunnel. Ghost hears himself grunt, like the wind's been punched out of him; his knees sag for a fraction of a second before he finds his centre of balance. Soap's mouth is hot and wet against one of the sprawling keloid scars on the underside of his jaw. Ghost doesn't know when, or how, to explain that he's never actually done *this* before, long past the point that he reasonably should have done.

Dangerous when there are those who enjoy nothing more than ripping wings off of pretty things. Out of options, Soap makes a sacrifice play. Ghost gets dragged into the game but he's not playing at all.

Summary
The potatoes rattled against the sides of the pot as the water began to boil. Simon adjusted the flame lower.
It had rained for days back then. The sound of it on the hospital windows blurred into the machines beside the bed, steady and repetitive. A nurse had told him to talk. Said it helped patients in comas.
Simon didn’t.
Outside, the light stayed grey most of the time. Johnny didn’t open his eyes.
Simon found himself missing the clear days with blue.
