The new guy looks around, nearly panicking. "Uh… Uh… "
Damn, he is adorable.
Bobby eventually breaks, cracking a warm hospitable smile, he moves the empty chair right next to him back, making room for the new kid. “Take a seat, Evan.”
Evan exhales in relief and smiles widely. His perfect white teeth are shining so brightly, Tommy believes he went momentarily blind. There is a highly pigmented red mark over his left eyelid. It doesn’t look like a wound; it has to be a birthmark or something, that makes him even prettier, if that’s possible.
“Uh, Buck. Ev-everyone just calls me Buck.” he takes a quick look around, scanning the room and the people, with such naive enthusiasm. His eyes meet with Tommy’s for a brief second, long enough to make his heart violently jump out of place.
Fuck, he thinks.
It's just one month. That is not that many shifts. He can make it.

“Lucky me,” John said, his voice half slurred as his head rolled over to rest where Brendon was standing right next to his head.
“This is anything but ‘lucky’,” Brendon grounded out.
Yeah, now that John thought it over again, he was decidedly unlucky. First by being scheduled on a day shift, then by getting stabbed, and now their vacation next week was going to be ruined.
“Do you think I’ll be able to go skiing next week with a hole in my side?” John asked
John gets stabbed by a patient in the ER.
