"Oh?" Dabi taunts in that flashfire voice of his; and Hawks is reminded, yet again, how easily he burns. "Tell me, what poor little bastard's gonna be riding your ugly-ass coattails for the next few months?"
Hawks frowns, realizing he's just set up a question he actually has to answer. Dabi will find out anyway, won't he? If there's one thing Hawks has learned, it's that Dabi has his ways. Hawks can never hide anything from him, no matter how hard he tries, a fact that will someday spell his undoing –– but there's no way around it now.
Willing his fight-or-flight instinct into silence, Hawks reminds his sharpened feathers he's not here for either. It'll be fine. The worst part of removing a bandaid is the dread before you rip it off. Right?
So Hawks braces himself, and answers:
"Todoroki Shouto."

Summary
Dabi is in the strange position of hiding from his past by being really, ridiculously obvious to everyone from his past on national TV. With the League bar a smoking ruin, he jumps straight from The Bachelorette into Bachelor In Paradise with the hope that the program’s “secret” location and army of bodyguards will keep him from being kidnapped a second time… or. Well. A third time, really. He just needs to play it cool, but that’s hard when Hawks has followed him to Paradise too, and Dabi can’t seem to concentrate on any of the other contestants.
Hawks is in the strange position of playing secret bodyguard for the man he’s fallen for, because the only other informants for the HPSC’s darkest secrets have either disappeared or been killed. This piles more angst on top of his already-confusing crush. Is he even allowed to have a crush? Emotions are hard. Hawks is suffering.
Meanwhile Natsuo is horrified but vindicated when he learns that the details of his brother’s death were forged; half of the U.A. staff is on the hunt for Oboro Shirakumo, who called into a radio show despite being dead for over ten years; and the League may not be villains, but they don’t take an insult laying down.

The Transformer Prowl Ends up in Gotham

Summary
There was a reason hybrids between human and demon were so rare. Even a pregnancy in a normal human pairing was taxing upon the mother but with a hybrid it was more often than not lethal. Human and demons were never truly meant to breed and for all successful pregnancies there were thousands of deaths, of stillborn or infants born only to die moments later from their conflicting nature or grotesque malformations. Or of purely demonic young eating their way out of their mothers and both dying as a result.
Mundus went through many humans, women abducted to the demon world by his minions, until one survived through the pregnancy long enough to birth a child which could pass for traditional human being. One which was too demonic in appearance was no use- he wanted eyes and ears within the mortal realm. Someone who could slip pass demon repellents and could search without scrutiny into unlocking the seals holding him prisoner. Something that could slip past Sparda's notice and to search, under the radar, for ways to fully manifest into the human world. For all Mundus looked down upon humans he wouldn't dismiss a tool without testing its use first.

I was scrolling through the top DMC fics (by hit) and found this one. I thought the Mundus's daughter tag and the 'you eat people' tag were interesting, so I gave it a go.
BOY WAS I SURPRISEDThis fic is really, really good. I am very much obsessed with it. The writing is very good, and I was able to follow along very well. Concepts are very clearly explained, and I even learned a few things reading it. While both the Writing and Worldbuilding are just phenomenal, The characters are what really kept me engaged, especially the lovely cannibal Red. Though a reader stand-in, Red really shines as a character all on her own. She has her quirks (besides cannibalism) and actively engages with her hobbies of being a menace, leather working, seal work, alchemy, and embroidery. Truly, a very talented individual.
This is certainly a slow burn worthy of the title as both Red and Vergil are traumatized, violent, idiot half-demon teenagers stumbling their way through life with unhealthy coping mechanisms. Their chemistry is unmatched from the get-go, from a violent whirlwind of a first meeting to very quiet moments of intellectual debate; I have never stopped rooting for them (even knowing that the angst and tragedy tag loom just over their shoulders). It took 45 chapters to get to calling each other friends and it'll certainly be entertaining watching them fumble around their feelings.
Speaking of relationships, Red's interactions with all of the characters is both genuinely heartwarming and very well executed. Effie, Marv, and Charlemagne are excellent original characters that really flesh out Red and her character development as she struggles to gain independence and freedom from Mundus's influence and power over her. Not to mention great use of already known characters from DmC (Although there is no use of the DmC plot). Lilith is very interesting for her brief appearance. And Syracuse is easy to dislike.
This fic leaves you satisfied with it's chapters, but still leaves you on the edge of your seat, wondering what's going to happen next. Given that we haven't even gotten to canon DMC yet.
Honestly, someone said 'the Penultimate Nero's Mom' fic, and I agree with them. I'm excited to see Red's journey to Nero, but I can also say that whatever's going on with Nero's Mom is way more interesting than Nero. Surviving in hell for a year, killing her guardian, Murdering witch covens, trying to steal the book of the dead, exploring infected ships in Louisiana, finding stolen children, killing angelos, fighting queen hydra, learning how to human from an old grandma, trying to get close to another hybrid to destroy him and make your father proud only to catch feelings and instead have a kid with him, stealing famous paintings, learning alchemy, studying seals, getting mildly attached to a half-succubus child.
Would recommend it to everyone I know if I could. One of my top three x reader fics. Good job Kiwi.
