You know you would have gone to the police if your stalker was a sleazy, weak-wristed man from the pub. You would’ve moved houses already, changed your name and closed your social media accounts, quit everything if your stalker was small and ugly and weak.

You had moved back to Hawkins to keep an eye on your little brother. You were prepared to battle the demons of your past, you weren't prepared to fall in love with the man that was your childhood best friend. He always had a way of tearing down your walls and warming your heart.
Starts shortly before season 4, this touches on mental health and depression. Really I just am writing this to fuel my raging Eddie Munson infatuation and to show the character all the love he deserves.
