No, no, no, no. This is not how things were supposed to go.
Will hates to admit that a part of him never believed Hannibal capable of truly, permanently causing him damage. At least unconsciously, he had internalized the idea of being immune to Hannibal’s true anger. After all, even in Hannibal’s most impulsive reaction to his betrayal, he’d cut him just right to not damage any organs.
Or, the Dolce sawing scene rewrite in which Will finds the strength to beg Hannibal to stop.

The first time Hannibal Lecter saw Will Graham was in the middle of spring, April 3rd, 1978. Hannibal remembered seeing Matron usher another kid inside the orphanage: unruly curls sticking out from his head, cheeks round, an innocent facade.
