The pencil in Will’s hand freezes for just a moment, something Mike wouldn’t have been able to tell at all if he wasn’t staring right at Will’s hands to avoid his gaze. “So?”
“Well, I’ve been thinking, right?”
Will looks up, but Mike isn’t looking back at him. He’s picking at a loose thread on the couch cushion. “What, about girls?”
“No,” Mike shakes his head, “about boys."
Will nearly chokes on his tongue. “You’ve been thinking about boys?”

Before Mike even really realised what he was doing, he was lifting himself up on his hands, bringing himself up over Will’s body so he could kiss the smile on his lips. Will let out a pleased, happy little sigh, and Mike wanted nothing more than to make him do it again. He wanted to discover every single noise that Will could make. Mike managed a jerky nod. “Yeah, fine. You’re just…” He broke off to clear his throat and finally lifted his hands to place them on the small of Will’s back. His skin was smooth and warm. Mike’s thumb moved with the dip in his spine, tracing along the curve. “You know.” Hot and on top of me.
Will smiled, pleased at that. “I do know,” he said loftily, and Mike got the sense he really did, and frequently used it against him to get his way. “But I like it when you tell me.”
Mike wakes ten years in the future, a successful novelist and in a committed relationship with Will.

“Why?” He felt Will squeeze his hand in response, but it seemed the smaller man wasn’t as worried as Mike.
